First Snowfall of the Year!

Today we had our 1st snowfall of the year and the kids are loving it!  They immediately bundled up and played on the porch for a little while!  Now they are ready to do some sledding.  I remember when I was little I loved the snow so much.  I would spend hours outside sledding, building snowmen and making snow angels.  My mom would walk me down to the skating rink and right next door was a huge bowl where we would take our innertubes!  I'm so glad I have those memories with my mom and I hope the kids will have warm memories like that as well.  Have a great Sunday everyone!

I shot all of these in manual mode with my 50mm lens.  Yay me! haha

Chilly Sundays Playing Inside

It's very cold here in Virginia today. Twenty eight degrees is winter to me. So we are just having a lazy Sunday playing inside. The kids are really into playing with the dollhouse. I pulled out my camera and took some shots. I'm still learning how to shoot in manual and it's definitely a learning curve trying to nail the focus.

Why hello there!

Let's start at the very beginning...it's a very good place to start...

My name is Danielle.  I am a 16 year old living in a 28 year old's body.  Don't tell me I can't still shop in the junior's section!  I live in Virginia with my husband Jerry, 31 year old gamer extraordinaire, and our two children.  Violette is 7 going on 17.  She's sweet with a lot of sass.  She loves to draw.  She get's that from her daddy.  Kingston is 3, almost 4 and is all boy!  He likes to dress up...frequently and is convinced he is the character he is pretending to be on any given day.

I wanted to start this blog as a way to document our day to day life.  These little ones are growing up so fast and I feel like I need to write it down so I don't forget anything.  My husband and I are seriously looking into China adoption.  I will be 29 in April, so we can't start the process for a year and a half :(
But, I am determined to learn all I can about the process and will be 100% prepared to submit those papers on my 30th birthday!  I've been reading a lot of blogs about international adoption and it's very motivating!  So, I hope you'll follow me along on my journey!

                                                                        That's Me!
